New Moms - Tips to Avoid Low Back Pain
Postpartum back pain is real, let's prevent or reduce it ASAP
If you’re trying to reduce or prevent low back pain, here are a few easy tips for you to implement today.
Hi! I’m Ally. I’m a women’s health Doctor of Physical Therapy & I wish I would have implemented these tips sooner.
Of course doing core, back, & glute strengthening are going to be helpful, but those things take a little bit of time to work for you.

These can help today:
Put your baby changing table at waist or belly button heigh so you’re not bending or stooping over for all those diaper changes.
Put your supplies within reach. Don’t always keep your diapers on the ground. Put them on a cart or on a coffee table so you’re not constantly bending over.
Sit in a supportive chair for feeding. You don’t need to go buy a new chair, but you pick the most supportive one in your home. Then, you can also take a towel roll & put it at your low back so that you’re sitting in a good posture while you’re doing those multiple feedings a day.
If you have any other tips, please share in the comments so that we can all help each other!
