I Don't Care If You Do These 4 Things Postpartum
As a women's health physical therapist, let's talk
I don’t care if you do these 4 things postpartum as a women’s health physical therapist.
Hi! I’m Ally. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in functional fitness for women throughout every stage of life, including pregnancy & motherhood.
Number 1: Breastfeed
I don’t care if you breastfeed or not. I’m still gonna ask you how you plan to feed your child because then we can talk about positioning considerations to avoid pain. Or if you’re already having pain, then we can talk about how to change things up or strengthen you in different areas to make sure that you’re all good.
Number 2: Maternity Leave
I don’t care how much maternity leave you take or if you plan to be a stay at home mom. I am going to ask you, though, because both of them come with different tasks. I want to make sure that you’re strong enough & you feel confident enough to return to doing all of those tasks pain-free.
Number 3: Exercise Level
I don’t care if you plan on training for a marathon right after you give birth or if you just want five minute daily workouts to get some movement in. We can discuss how to safely do either.
Number 4: Core Training
I don’t care if you start seriously training your core again two weeks, two months, two years, or two decades postpartum. Life happens & we all have a different story. If you’re just now realizing how important it is for you to train your core, then let’s do it! And, I’m ready to help you. I am starting a postpartum course series through my Substack for subscribers. The postpartum course series begins on Monday, June 2nd. Send this to a friend so they can join, too.
