Attention Busy Moms: Improve your health in one minute
Women can better their cardiovascular fitness in just one minute per day
When you’re working or chasing after little ones (or both), you don’t always have time to get to the gym. That’s where “exercise snacks” come into play.
Hi! I’m Ally. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in functional fitness for women throughout every stage of life, including pregnancy & motherhood.
It’s true. A study by Islam, et al in 2022 found that doing 20 seconds of intense exercise every 1-4 hours 3 times per day significantly improved cardiovascular fitness. Taking time for yourself can improve your mental health, too.
Try implementing one of the following at work or home & let me know how you feel.
Jumping jacks at your desk
Sprinting to race your kids across the yard
High knees during timeouts of your child’s soccer game
Stair climbing at work
Jump squats between work calls
Push ups while your kids drive toy cars beneath you
Some days getting a full workout in isn’t feasible, but you can usually find 20 second pockets of time 3 times a day. How will you work movement into your day?
xoxo- happy exercising!
